Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says Moscow will hold another round of nuclear talks with Iran in the near future.

Russian news agencies say the talks will be held in Moscow on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Recent talks on Russia's proposal to host Iran's uranium enrichment program have not produced results, and an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Sunday the Russian offer had been rejected. A short while later, the spokesman's comments were overruled by Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who said the Russian proposal is not dead.

Monday, Lavrov complained of contradictory signals coming from Tehran, and said he is disappointed with Iran's conduct in the talks.

Russia's offer to enrich uranium for Tehran is aimed at easing international concerns that Iran could use the process to make an atomic bomb.

Last week, the International Atomic Energy Agency sent its report on Iran's nuclear activities to the United Nations Security Council. The document said I.A.E.A. investigators could not determine if Tehran is enriching uranium for military purposes.

The United States accuses Tehran of seeking to build an atomic bomb. Iran has repeatedly denied the charge and says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
