WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- Air Force officials recently announced the 2004 Air Force Outstanding Security Forces Individual Award winners.

5/19/2005 - WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- Air Force officials recently announced the 2004 Air Force Outstanding Security Forces Individual Award winners.

These annual awards recognize the top security forces Airmen in each category.

The career field-wide award winner is:

Colonel Billy Jack Carter Award: Senior Master Sgt. Richard Graves from the 437th Security Forces Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.

Unit level award winners are:

-- Outstanding Security Forces Company Grade Officer: 1st Lt. Robert Moore from the 375th SFS at Scott AFB, Ill.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Flight Level Senior Noncommissioned Officer: Master Sgt. Clifton Shockley from the 11th SFS at Bolling AFB, D.C.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Support Staff Level Senior NCO: Senior Master Sgt. John Ortega from the 28th SFS at Ellsworth AFB, S.D.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Flight Level NCO: Staff Sgt. George Bibb from the 82nd SFS at Sheppard AFB, Texas.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Support Staff Level NCO: Tech. Sgt. Nancy Altenberg from the 36th SFS at Andersen AFB, Guam.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Flight Level Airman: Staff Sgt. Ivan Quinn from the 305th SFS at McGuire AFB, N.J.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Support Staff Level Airman: Staff Sgt. Landon Henrie from the 22nd SFS at McConnell AFB, Kan.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Unit Level Civilian Employee: James Pettus from the 18th SFS at Kadena Air Base, Japan.

Headquarters-level award winners are:

-- Outstanding Security Forces Company Grade Officer: Capt. Victor Moncrieffe II from Air Force Space Command headquarters at Peterson AFB, Colo.

-- Outstanding Security Forces NCO: Senior Master Sgt. Michael Yoakum from Pacific Air Forces headquarters at Hickam AFB, Hawaii.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Civilian Employee: Scott Peake from U.S. Air Forces in Europe headquarters at Ramstein AB, Germany.

Reserve component award winners are:

-- Outstanding Security Forces Company Grade Officer: Capt. Thomas Venable from the 129th SFS at Moffett Federal Air Field, Calif.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Senior NCO: Senior Master Sgt. Brent Belcoff from the 377th SFS at Kirtland AFB, N.M.

-- Outstanding Security Forces NCO: Staff Sgt. Daniel Lent from the 21st SFS at Peterson AFB.

-- Outstanding Security Forces Airman: Senior Airman Tyler Elliott from the 178th SFS at Springfield Air National Guard Base, Ohio.

Augmentation personnel award winners are:

-- Army National Guard Soldier of the Year: 1st Sgt. Kevin Myers from the 55th SFS at Offutt AFB, Neb.

-- Outstanding Wing Augmentee: Master Sgt. Paul Price from the 437th SFS.

In a ceremony held today in the shadow of the Minuteman I Intercontinental Ballistic Missile outside USSTRATCOM Headquarters, Major General Thomas Deppe, commander Twentieth Air Force and STRATCOM Task Force 214 activated the 625th Strategic Operations Squadron. The 625th is a tenant unit on Offutt AFB and reports directly to 20 AF, located at Frances E. Warren AFB in Wyoming.

A Pentagon spokesman says the United States would be "disappointed" if Russia stopped meeting its obligations under the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty.
